One way to reduce the number of overdose deaths in Nevada County is to make Narcan easy to access for community members.
The California Department of Health Care Services’ (DHCS) Naloxone Distribution Project allows organizations, businesses and other groups to become distributors of Narcan. DHCS provides Narcan at no cost and the two-step application process is simple and takes less than 30 minutes to complete.
Already, nearly a dozen organizations across Nevada County have signed up to become Narcan distributors through the program, ranging from local businesses to schools and non-profit organizations. Do your part to increase access to Narcan for your community–become a Narcan distributor today!
