Fentanyl Testing Strips

Fentanyl test strips are used to test drugs for the presence of fentanyl. Because fentanyl may not be evenly distributed throughout a product (known as the chocolate chip cookie effect), test strips may not always be able to accurately detect the presence of fentanyl. For this reason and because of some other limitations (see instructions or video below), they should be used as one of many tools and always paired with naloxone (Narcan).

Eastern Nevada County

Nevada County has other naloxone distributors throughout the community. Each distributor has their own guidelines for how to get naloxone and may or may not carry fentanyl test strips. Some only distribute to clients or customers while others make it available to the public.
